"Where I'm From" was shot in the St. Louis homeless tent village known as "Hopeville". All of the actors were real life homeless residents of the village-which has a Mayor, head of security and some incredibly wonderful human beings. Contrary to popular opinion, not all of the homeless are unemployed. In fact, we discovered that many of the homeless in Hopeville actually work jobs everyday and are planning an exit from their temporary home called "Hopeville". When I asked why they chose the name Hopeville, the Mayor responded that "failure is not an option and we never lose hope for a better life". This was the most transformative video we've ever produced and we learned a valuable lesson about life from the homeless that we'll never forget. http://youtu.be/JeAFFEDCgmg?hd=1
